Dirt gate: more than 10,000 people pledge to protest at Perth’s Brownes Dairy Plant

BROWNES Dairy is under fire with thousands of angry millennials demanding it re-releases their favourite Yogo flavour.

More than 10,000 people have made a pledge on Facebook to show up at the Perth dairy plant and protest for the return of the dirt dessert.

For those who don’t remember Yogos used to come in a variety of flavours – including, chocolate, strawberry, double-decker and the infamous dirt dessert.

The dirt dessert contained a layer of Yogo on top and a bottom layer of rich chocolatey “dirt”.

It was discontinued about five years ago with Brownes citing lack of sales.

The protest has sparked memes and even a dirt dessert t-shirt.

Brownes has not confirmed if the protest would be successful, but they have sent out their big guns in the form of their mascot – the give me Yogo bird.
